CargoFax MCP: customs trade data inside your AI assistants

CargoFax MCP connects CargoFax customs trade records to the AI assistants and agents your team already uses. It works with Claude, ChatGPT, and other tools that support the Model Context Protocol (MCP). CargoFax MCP draws on the same 500M+ records that power Atlas and Files. The records cover eight markets: the United States, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru. CargoFax MCP is live in early access for selected clients and prospects. Fill out the request form and we will get back to you.

The protocol

What is MCP (Model Context Protocol)?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants and agents connect to outside data sources and tools. An assistant that supports MCP can ask a connected source for the information it needs while it answers your question. You do not need to copy data into a chat.

For trade data, an analyst can ask an AI assistant a question about shipments. The assistant then works from CargoFax customs records rather than from general web knowledge.

What you get

What does CargoFax MCP give you?

  • The same records as Atlas and Files: shipment-level customs records from eight markets, with the fields each market publishes.
  • Your AI tools, your workflow: ask questions in the assistant or agent your team already works in.
  • One data source across products: the figures in an AI answer come from the records you can also check in Atlas or receive through Files.
  • Access shaped with you: early access customers tell us which platforms, markets, and connection options they need.

Example questions

What could you ask CargoFax MCP?

Examples of the questions early access customers want to ask their AI assistants. Answers draw on the fields each market carries. Latin American records carry declared values. US and Haiti records carry bills of lading, vessels, containers, and gross weight.

Market and competitor research

"Which US importers brought in HS 8507 batteries last month, and from which countries?" "Who supplies my competitor in Mexico, and how have their volumes changed this year?"

Buyer and supplier discovery

"List the companies importing HS 1006 rice into Haiti over the last 12 months, ranked by weight." "Which countries supplied the most HS 8708 vehicle parts to Mexico last quarter?"

Reports and agents

"Build a table of Colombian coffee exports by destination since 2020." Teams building their own agents and LLM applications want the same records available to their software, next to their internal data.
